Long narrrow wetland complex in an acidc basin with oak-hickory, oak-pine, and oak-ericad upland forests. Wetland matrix types are Carex herb vegetationand Alnus serrulata patches.;Slightly sloping seep just above stream channel, may be flooded sometimes by overbank flows, but staying wet from seepage. Herbaceous community dominated by Carex folliculata and Carex stricta. Sawn stump in plot possibly from salvage after beavers flooded the place. Tall dead snags with fire scars.
Representativeness
Most of small patch with co-dominance of Carex folliculata and Carex stricta. Similar community grades to higher cover by Carex stricta (wetter) or Dichanthelium in opposite directions.
